The Opportunity

We are looking for a Finance Specialist to perform our financial and accounting operations. This is a great opportunity to contribute to our business’s success,and grow this position as our Company continues to grow.

Responsibilities:

  • Work within our ERP and PSA system to set up billable projects, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing each month
  • Manage the Finance inbox and respond to emails in a timely manner
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and systems to enhance the finance function’s efficiency
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to financial reporting systems, accounting procedures, and investment activities
  • Managing billing runs, Account Receivables and payments
  • Complete client invoicing and ensure timely collection of receivables
  • Implement strategies to reduce the average Account Receivable duration
  • Liaise with the Accounting Team on payment entry and account aging data
  • Prepare financial statements, summaries, cost-benefit analyses, and management reports
  • Collect, interpret, and report financial data and prepare special reports on trends and information
  • Assist in ensuring the company complies with legal standards by keeping up-to-date with laws, ensuring adherence, and providing updates to the executive team
  • Support monthly and year-end financial preparation
  • Collaborate with external bookkeepers and accounting firms

 

Future Growth for this position:

  • Assist in developing financial simulation models to help with decision-making.
  • Help enforce policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems to optimize financial assets.
  • Support the preparation of budgets, including scheduling, data gathering and analysis, and planning recommendations.
  • Help protect company assets by aiding in the establishment and monitoring of internal controls.
  • Assist in cash management strategies to ensure returns are maximized and risks are minimized.
  • Help manage and monitor budget objectives, identify variances, and support the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Support in reporting important financial trends to the Executive Team and help coordinate financial planning and budget processes.
  • Participate in audits to verify financial status and work with external auditors as needed.
  • Contribute to guiding financial decisions by supporting the establishment and monitoring of financial policies and procedures.

 

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA Designation an asset
  • 1-3 years’ experience in accounting/finance (specifically in AR)
  • Experience with financial reporting requirements
  • Experience analyzing information
  • Managing processes end-to-end
  • Tracking budget expenses
  • Using Financial software
  • Developing standards
