The Opportunity

The Accounts Receivable and Payroll Associate will be responsible for invoicing customers, recording invoices into the accounting system, daily monitoring of bank accounts, tracking accounts receivable, following up on outstanding invoices, calculating and submitting payroll to the payroll processing company, and other duties as assigned. This position will be expected to maintain and grow relationships with both customers and employees to assist in a timely and accurate accounts receivable process.

Responsibilities:

 

Accounts Receivable

  • Generate and send monthly customer invoices 
  • Reconcile payments in the accounting software (FreshBooks)
  • Track receivables and facilitate collection of past-due amounts
  • Monitor daily bank account and credit card activity 

 

Payroll

  • Calculate payroll and submit to payroll processing company on a bi-weekly basis
  • Log employee vacation and expenses
  • Prepare/Coordinate ROEs when required
  • Manage T4 preparation and distribution to all current employees and to past employees as applicable 

 

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional service to clients 
  • Liaise regularly with bookkeeper on bank account and credit card activity
  • Attend various administrative meetings
  • Prepare regular required reports, and special reports as needed
  • Data entry
  • Other duties as assigned

What you’ll bring:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Administration (Major in Finance); or a related Diploma (preferred)
  • Attention to detail and ability to coordinate various efforts with multiple parties
  • Effective project management skills. 
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Proficient in Freshbooks, Dext, Quickbooks (preferred)
